Revulsion: Undressing external humanity

If you’re looking for a pretty straightforward, no-frills, mid-paced death metal bludgeoning, Revulsion will be more than happy to aurally beat the scheiße out of you. These Fins know their game, which is your standard run-of-the-mill groovy death metal that you’ve probably heard a thousand times before. The riffs are nowhere near technical in any way, but what these guys lack in technical skill, they at least attempt to make up for with groove, and they succeed occasionally. The production is pretty good, boasting a nice thick overall sound with good clarity despite how low everything sounds. In the end, however, it’s just too repetitive and a little too easy to digest, failing to hold my interest for very long. The riffing reminds me a little too much of Six Feet Under with its almost over-the-top simplicity. The vocals have a pretty good low grind to them (hey, the vocalist is also in Napoleon Skullfukk, which sounds like an awesome ice cream flavor), but it’s still nothing you’ve ever heard before. Still, if you’re looking for a mindless mid-paced groovy death metal album to hold you over for a little while, you might want to give Revulsion a spin.

6/10 songs could probably use a blastbeat here or there.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
